However if you want in place of the blueberries instead have a small blueberry muffin or other type of breakfast pastry with a cup of fat free milk.Menu 3 - Although not as quick to prepare as the second sample breakfast menu in this article, it is quicker than the first one. Take two toasted slices of whole wheat bread and on to these spread 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. How can I take a diabetic menu seriously when it advocates one of the worst transfats which is margarine? Very dangerous for diabetics. I am looking for whole natural foods and recipes, not food substitutes.
All of these breakfast have way too much carbohydrates. I can not get away with more than 1/2 cup milk. It is full of high glycemic sugar...and MUFFINS no way.
The menu with the toast should have only one slice, and no milk or oatmeal with it.
I can only eat 1 slice of low carb bread, and egg and a can of V8 juice. Try the south beach diet..it works pretty good if you are not on insulin yet
Thanks for the article. I live in Tampa and was just diagnosed with type 2 at Tampa General Hospital yesterday, and about hit the roof.
I am cleaning all the bad food out of my home, and was searching for what to eat.
I really like the information on this website. It was very helpful. My mother and I are looking for foods we can eat for breakfast.
Waaaaay too many carbs!!! Try this instead:
Atkins pancake mix (it is low-carb but be careful with what you put on it- some diabetics are sensitive to artificial sweetners)
OR
Egg substitute and turkey bacon with a little reduced fat cheese wrapped in a low-carb tortilla.
Always make sure you test after your meals- the meter will tell you what you are sensitive to. Most diabetics can't have a lot of carbs for breakfast.
Thanks a lot for the menus. I googled breakfast menus for diabetes and your article came up. I will bookmark it since I was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and I am doing a lot of research.
